1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for, participating in, or attending any event hosted by Better Baseball Tournaments (“BBT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to these Terms of Service. This applies to all teams, coaches, players, parents, and spectators.
If you do not agree, do not participate.
2. Eligibility & Team Registration
- All teams must meet age and classification requirements as defined by BBT and/or sanctioning bodies (e.g., USSSA).
- Teams must provide accurate roster information.
- BBT reserves the right to reclassify or deny entry to any team at its sole discretion to maintain competitive balance.
3. Payment Terms
- Full payment or deposit is required to secure tournament entry.
- Teams with unpaid balances may be removed from the schedule without notice.
- Any unpaid fees may result in suspension from future events.
4. Cancellation & Refund Policy
For all Better Baseball–operated events, teams will receive credit only toward a future Better Baseball event.
Credit-Only Model (No Cash Refunds)
- No cash refunds will be issued under any circumstances.
- Credits are automatically applied to the team’s Better Baseball account within the USSSA system and can be used for any Better Baseball tournament or league within 12 months of issuance.
Credit Usage Rules:
- Credits are valid for 12 months from date of issuance.
- Credit is redeemable only for Better Baseball–operated Utah USSSA tournaments or leagues.
- Credits are transferable within the same organization/program but not between unrelated organizations.
- Credits cannot be applied to gate fees, merchandise, or non–Better Baseball events.
Weather Policy: Team Does Not Attend Due to Forecast-
- If a team elects not to participate based on forecasted weather, the team forfeits the entire entry fee. No credit issued.
Rainout Before Any Games Begin-
- Teams receive a 60% credit of the entry fee.
Rainout After the First Game Begins-
- Teams receive a 40% credit.
Rainout After the Second Game Begins-
5. Schedule & Format Changes
BBT reserves the right to:
- Adjust schedules, formats, divisions, and locations
- Combine or split divisions based on registration numbers
All decisions are final and made in the best interest of the event.
6. Conduct & Sportsmanship
You’re setting culture here—be firm:
- Coaches, players, and spectators must conduct themselves respectfully.
- Unsportsmanlike behavior, harassment, or abuse of umpires, staff, or participants will result in:
- Ejection from the event
- Possible team removal without refund
- Suspension from future BBT events
7. Umpires & Game Decisions
- All umpire decisions are final.
- Protests are subject to tournament rules and must be submitted immediately.
8. Player Safety & Assumption of Risk
Participation involves inherent risk.
By participating, you acknowledge:
- Baseball activities may result in injury or harm
- You voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation
BBT does not guarantee safety beyond standard event organization.
9. Medical Responsibility
- Teams are responsible for their own medical care and insurance.
- BBT is not responsible for injuries or medical expenses.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
Better Baseball Tournaments, its owners, staff, affiliates, and partners shall not be liable for:
- Injuries, damages, or losses sustained during events
- Property loss or theft
- Weather interruptions or event changes
Liability, if any, is limited to the amount paid for tournament entry.
11. Media & Content Release
By participating, you grant BBT permission to:
- Use photos, videos, and likenesses for marketing and promotional purposes
- Publish scores, standings, and team information
No compensation will be provided for such use.
12. Facility Rules
Participants must follow all rules set by host facilities, including:
- Field usage policies
- Local ordinances
- Park regulations
Failure to comply may result in removal from the event.
13. Force Majeure
BBT is not responsible for delays or cancellations due to events beyond its control, including but not limited to:
- Weather
- Natural disasters
- Government actions
- Facility closures
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Utah.
Any disputes shall be resolved in Utah courts or through arbitration, at BBT’s discretion.
15. Modifications
BBT reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of any changes.
